I did once, it was called "Gray Hat [HACK]" It started out as a solution to all the clowns who would PM me randomly asking me to join their guild (I have been guildless by choice for some time now)
the most members [HACK] ever had was 3 including myself. |

That should do the trick - trust me, I sometimes have to get the heavier root vegetables out from time to time to deal with some of the more obstreperous members |

Personally, I just formed my one-man guild so I'd have a cape that matched my Warrior's armor

Lol I'm a guild of one too. One man army and all. I wouldn't mind joining a good close knit active guild but there pretty hard to find.

I got sick of not being able to find a guild that suited my needs. Maybe I'm just very picky. Some notable guilds:
* A pretty decent guild, but they were heavily into PvP which I have no interest in. One night I guess not many people turned up for a scheduled PvP thing and an officer posted an angry message on the guild's forum telling everyone off for it. I decided to quit. * Another guild I was in was a personal record for me in how long I had been a member - roughly a week. Decent people, but again they were into GvG. When I said I wasn't interested in it, I was heckled. Had a chat to the guild leader later on (he was actually thinking of making me an officer because I was on every night) and I told him how I didn't think the guild was really for me. He completely understood. Top bloke. I kind of wish I hadn't left now, but I can't remember the names of any of the members. * Joined a friend's guild. Heaps of people. Unfortunately, because they're all in Europe and I'm in Australia there was practically nobody on when I would be playing. Had a chat with my mate about it, he was disappointed but understood. * Started my own guild, started recruiting. After ten minutes I realised I was terrible at recruiting ("new Aussie PvE guild looking for members who can spell. No hall, no alliance, but we have a cape!") and also had nothing I could really offer as a leader - I'd only been through Prophecies once and had barely scratched the surface of Factions and Nightfall. Joined a mature Aussie guild a few minutes later. * Left that guild. Only five members, and nobody was online when I was. So methinks I'll start my own guild again. Not really sure why I'm that hung up on joining one really. I think it's just the sense of community and belonging I'm after. Maybe I should just get to know my heroes better. |

Guilds I've been in I've been officer most of the times because of my friends that were in it, but they were all rude people so I left and made a guild of my own. Yeah it's only me and my bro but I don't mind I still do missions and stuff with other people.

Yeah,
I’m in a one person guild as well (only one I’ve been in and it's never had any other members). I created it mostly just to get a nice cape. Now though, I’ve almost got enough money to buy a Hall (the price has jumped up to 29K!) Unfortunately, I’m just a casual, mature player, with a full-time job, wife, and a 2 year-old, without TS/vent, owning only Prophecies who can’t commit to firm times to play. As such, I’m unable make the commitment necessary to be a full-time guild leader or a member in a competitive guild. I wouldn’t mind if the guild grew to a small size with people in similar situations or joining another small guild of similar people. It’d be nice to be able to hook up with the same people once in a while and just have some fun with no pressure and semi-intelligent conversation. |

My 2-man guild has grown to 7, but still feels smaller as we seldom have more than 2 people on at the same time.
I invited a new player who asked to join after I helped him with a mission. He started recruiting people, but now he's never on either. It occurs to me that if I work this right I can have a huge guild where no one will ever talk to anyone else. |

I just made a 1 man guild, now i have the cape I always wanted, and don't have to be bothered because of once i was guildless, it seems to give me more time to have fun with other people without being dragged along for some guild activities.

I'm currently in my one-man guild. I'm planning on starting a guild with some of my RL friends and had to have a change, since the game was getting very stale and boring for me. But if it doesn't work out, I'll keep my one man guild for the occasional moments I play.

I'm in what used to be a seven-person, pre-Factions guild made up of RL friends. Then some went into the army and the rest only have sporadic internet access these days. Now it's just me.
I'm still keeping the guild alive 'just in case' they ever come back, but am considering letting it die and going off to join my partner's guild (we're in the same alliance already). His guild have welcomed me with open arms but... I miss my friends and feel bad about letting our guild (which existed in another game before GW) disband completely. Foolishly sentimental, I know. |

I have an absolutely excellent one man guild, and here's the story of it:
Originally, I formed PXZ for the sole purpose of adding a cape to my characters. After some very short lived attempts at recruiting (Top roster was three members total) I decided to just continue playing the game instead. Eventually I bought myself a guild hall and then I became intrigued with commanding my own organization. So, I used PMs for hours until I got a few officers together and I managed to create PXZ into a respectable PvE guild with 25 or so members at its peak roster. However, I had to move so I left another officer in charge as guild leader. After my one month absence I returned to see that the cape had been changed and most of the members had left, with me back in command. So after that the guild slumped, had a minor revival, then completely crashed. However... I am now the leader of a fully stocked guild hall. The tag I originally chose, the name I originally chose, a hall, and all of the NPCs. I like it. It's a lot better to do my business in the hall than a major city. No massive merchant spam and every NPC is close by. And I've finally got the cape to something I truly like. Oddly enough, the guild has actually survived my original character (the one who formed it) because of my OCD tendencies. (As in, I deleted my 9 month character for no reason.) The only ppl who do this are Monks so they won't have to bother with that invite as a lot of guilds would like one in thiers.

I have recently Created a guild to spite too many bad ones ingame, and the fact that I can never seem to get the people who I play w/(and they are top 100) to remember me, so my connections list has been pretty low After bouncing from guild to guild and never being able to find a good guild(for pvp) I decided to create my own.
Farmers Used to Beat us[FUBU] was created on the 8th of april. I liked the name cause it was a joke a friend told me and made me chuckle, its a stand out name IMHO. I already got myself a Hall, cape and a TS server. I wanted a vent server but I'd have to approach an unfamiliar person w/ a recommendation from a friend, I didn't like that. This is a GvG guild I'll be starting, but its 1 man till I get things ready to launch ^^ it'll be east coast time players only and gvg 8pm-12pm/am when people are on, cause people have lives. |

When I joined GW last September, it was because my RL friends were into it and I adored the whole "no subscription" deal. Unfortunately, I didn't really like their guild name or cape and was sick of the HOLYCRAPJOIN spam, so I made my own....Scions of Kushiel SCIK.
Eight months later, I'm now the head of an alliance with their guild of 5 people (2 inactive)...and I still love it. I've got a cape that I like and the freedom to change it whenever I want (love doing themed capes for festivals and stuff), the guild hall I wanted (Weeping Stone, I think...the Echovald one), and my very own game-wide chat channel for talking to friends...aka Alliance Chat. Personally, I don't find it lonely at all, because I'm on a lot and over time my Friends list has grown with farming buddies (met some great people during the dbl point weekend, for example), random competent people from PUGs (rare, but they do exist), and the other cool people I've met during special events, etc. Someday I may move to a bigger guild to complete my Vanquish or Guardian title, but I've got other stuff I'm working on now and generally, it may take more time, but you can usually get a PUG together anyhow. |
